Our Urgent Dental Care Services
- Root canal treatment: Treatment for a severely damaged or infected tooth that relieves pain and helps save the tooth instead of removing it.
- Wisdom teeth removal: Removal of wisdom teeth that are impacted, crowded, painful or at risk of causing problems.
Related care includes tooth-coloured fillings for cavities, crowns to protect a repaired tooth and gum disease treatment for infected or bleeding gums.
Urgent Dental Care or Emergency Dentist?
These two services cover different needs. Urgent dental care is for problems that need prompt, planned treatment, such as an infected tooth that needs a root canal or wisdom teeth that are causing pain. Our emergency dentist service is for sudden problems such as a knocked-out tooth, trauma, severe pain, swelling or bleeding, when you want to be seen the same day. If you are not sure which you need, call us on (780) 784-6900 and we will point you in the right direction.
Signs You May Need Urgent Dental Care
- A toothache that does not go away
- Pain or sensitivity when chewing or to hot and cold
- Swelling in the gums, face or jaw
- A bad taste in your mouth or a pimple-like bump on the gum
- A tooth that is badly decayed, cracked or broken
- Wisdom teeth that are painful, partly through the gum or hard to clean
What to Expect
At your visit, your dentist examines the problem, takes digital x-rays if needed and explains what is happening and what your options are. We provide a free estimate before treatment, so you know the cost in advance. If you are anxious, laughing gas and sedation options are available.
Comfort and Sedation
Many people feel nervous when they are in pain or need a procedure. Our team is trained to keep every visit calm and comfortable. Learn more about sedation dentistry.
